Looking for EURO2012 commentators

     The official UEFA EURO 2012 Project «Respect Inclusion – Football With No Limits» is seeking for volunteers  audio descriptive commentators for audio translation of the football matches of the EURO 2012 which will take place in Ukraine.

We are looking for: active young people, with knowledge of English and Ukrainian, preferably students of the journalism faculty or prospective news announcers familiar with the sport (in particular, football) terminology, for special audio description of the matches for the people with the eyesight impairments.

Requirements to the applicants:

        ·Native Ukrainian speakers;
·
Clear articulation, good command of voice;
·
Absolute knowledge of the football game rules;
·
Ability to describe the events in a catching and detailed manner;
·
Knowledge of English (Advanced/Upper ²ntermediate);
·
Understanding of the volunteering principles;
·
Proactive approach to life.

Selected candidates will go through free-of-charge specific training (in English). After the successful audio descriptive commentary provision for the EURO 2012 matches UEFA will present participants with the certificate of training in audio descriptive commentary. National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine will provide its recommendations to the best commentators for possible further job placement in the Ukrainian Football Federation.

Experienced audio descriptive commentator helps to the supporters who are blind or have visual impairments to fully understand the run of play, tense competition of the teams, atmosphere and participation of the supporters at the stadium and, thanks to such commentary, to ensure the opportunity for the supporters who are blind or have visual impairments to fully enjoy the whole football match aspects.
