On the eve of the 17-th anniversary of the Independence Day a team of FC “Karpaty” fans took part in the traditional international football tournament for fans called the “Independence Cup”, which had been held in Kyiv. For the first time in its history our team was equipped in own originally designed football kits (in previous years supporters were wearing old kits received from FC “Karpaty”). Fans put on striped green and white jersey way ahead of their idols from the football club, for the first time after the interval of 15 years.
Regarding the result – unfortunately it was not better compared to the last year’s achievement: after qualification games our fans only managed to get to the quarterfinal where they lost to a fan team from Moscow. Probably guys just were not fit for the quarterfinal because the day before they played 3 games in a row (the calendar was changed for the team from Lviv as our fans couldn’t miss a game of the Ukraine National team). Anyway Lviv supporters proved to be a team to be reckoned with. |
